Default WRX 30K Service Cost

Sorry if this has been asked before, but could someone advise me of what I should be paying for the 30k service on MY03 WRX PPP?

I just seem to have a habit of paying too much. Maybe they take one look at me and say 'add another £50 to that'. I feel like the guy in the new VW Jetta ad

30k is a biggy, with all fluids and plugs changed over the usual. Expect IRO £4-500

MY53 Sti 30k service was approx £340 with the vat at my local squealer. I wouldn't imagine that it will be much different as the added costs are Diff oils, gear box oil (i think), plugs, Fuel filter, consumables and air filter whereas a standard service is Oil and filter which are also changed at 30k.

Breakdown is as follows for an sti 30k service

Oil filter = £4.60
Sump washer = £0.83
Fuel Filter = £20.35
Spark plugs = £39.80 (set of 4)
Gasket = £1.10
Gear oil *4 = £26.48
Gear oil * 2= £9.66
Brake Clean = £2.85
White Grease= £2.25
Engine Oil = £21.60
Clip?? *4 = £1.16

Parts = £130.68

Labour = £142.10

Vat = £47.74

Total = £320.52

Hope this helps, may be a little cheaper on a WRX but I doubt their would be that much difference to be honest.

Found the receipt whilst I was typing so hence the more accurate breakdown of costs.

Blimey thats cheap...

Just had the 30k/3year service on my WRX and the cost was £480, I then added MOT as well + a new battery for alarm fob and a replacement number plate bulb (lazy, I know) and the whole lot was £533.

I asked about a 30K/36month service recently too. A main dealer told me £340 - £350 with me supplying the engine oil. Indepandant quoted £290 again with me supplying the oil. Car is 2003 WRX.

Thanks for the replies guys. I shall rightly expect to shell out in the £350 range then!

Thanks for the breakdown GB, that's a big help!

Only thing bugging me is the car has only covered 22k miles, yet is 3yrs old, but I guess I have no choice but to have it done.

It was last serviced last Feb at 18k miles and had an oil change in Nov, when I bought it.

The car is just out of warranty. Should I just bite the bullet and get it serviced, or wait till it has covered 30k?

If the warranty is up I'd maybe have an oil change and leave the major stuff 'til 30k. You may wanna investigate independant specialists to save a few bob too.

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought. I am just a bit miffed at the thought of having to shell out for a large service so 'early'.

My car has only done 15K from new, guess it be 16-17k by May - June when it needs doing but it says 10k or 12 month service.

I can't see that I have missed anything off and the switch receipt matches the dealer invoice breakdown, maybe the dealers around here are a little cheaper .

No airfilter on the list, but thats because it was changed not long ago, so £350 should be about right with an airfilter I would imagine .

Hope i can get a good deal.

Care to name the dealer......?

I'm a little concerned, as it could be the dealer that I was thinking of using in West Sussex!

Care to mention which dealer? I could point this out to mine and try to push their price down. I phoned earlier and was told between 300 and 400 notes

Hi Mate,

Best thing I found works phone round a few dealers and quote the lowest price, ask them to match it or loose the business.

Or, what I found a 70 mile drive to Bedfordshire saved me over £150 in labour costs (and the wife got to go shopping).

If you live near London or Thames valley, it might be worth a day out, as it seems everyone in Maidenhead earns £70k.

I got a 30K service on my 03-plate WRX, got them to fit a set of front pads, and got them to dial the prodrive settings into my suspension, and the total bill, with SIDC discount was, i think, £466.00

Just a quick note, All subaru parts should cost the same regardless of who the dealer is Subaru set the retail prices and the dealer cannot or should not charge more, (part of there dealership contract) I had this problem with my dealer (Nr Maidstone) chargeing me £6.50 for a £4.50 oil filter all dealers have had warning letters from subaru UK reading them the riot act if ther charge more than MRRP. Keep your eyes open for rip off dealers, remember they have no right to charge more than MRRP.
