Due to my monotanous constant praise, drivle etc of the Scoob, my boss is contemplating buying a brand new Impreza (probably WRX, maybe STi) to hire out along side the fleet of cars, vans, MPV's and 4x4's we already do.
Can I have some feedback/views on whether or not you think this is a viable option? There would be a few criteria to meet before being able to hire the car, namely age/time license held/points etc. Would probably be around £80 per day (Same as the big 4x4's)
Just looking for your views on the subject guys (and girls of course )

Yeh not a great idea, the last hire car I had, we filmed it in action on an old airfield, and later with tyre smoke, pouring in the heater vents, what fun !

I hired a brand new STi5 Type R back in April '99. It had only done 800miles. I was 1st customer to hire it.
Cost = £120/day.
That was unlimited mileage and insurance included.
Only additional cost was the fuel (2.5 tanks in a day).
I enquired to hire it again 2 months later and found it had been written off! Subsequent details of which were published in that chav mag, Max Power.
The hire company had already lost an STi4 months earlier in same circumstances.
So, hence they were unable to offer anymore scoobs for hire due to insurance.
Nick
PS Scoobs were like rockin horse sheet in those days too

We have an agreement with Avis - they keep giving us a brand new WRX instead of a the focus class of car we should have. Lets just say that people are not sticking to the 1000 miles rule.
Hire car companies used to make money out of running the car for 9 months and then selling at a profit....not sure if this is still the case.
