Popped into the Harlow meet yesterday (nice to meet you gents), and seeing as Motor Sales is about 200 metres away, on the way home popped in to see the new Sti. Sat in the drivers seat, it's about as supportive as a park bench!!, we must be getting the extra wide USDM lardy seats now, and not the JDM buckets. Got out and had a careful look, and the new seats are definitely flat, particularly around the shoulder wings. I think that you would be hanging onto the steering wheel for support in the twisties, not impressed.

 

I had a close look at them and compared them to an 06 WRX and my 03 WRX and they now appear to be the same seat with an STi cover

 

I guess that means they have the air bags now then.

I've tried one as well, nowhere near as snug as my 03 STi. Must say it puts me off slightly. Presume JDM ones would be OK as I'm inclined to go that way when its time to change - lots more toys and a stronger engine.

 

When I took my girly to see the 02 STI I'm picking up tomorrow I sat in the 06 and noticed that the seats are about the same as my parents 2001 GLX!
