Yup Uk car, some came with PPP and would be classed as modified though.

thx guys was in the process of getting a v5 sti but the insurance was £1200 for me and misses all because its a import...so a uk spec car might be the option. cheers

280 is an easily achieved target mate, re-map and de-cat should see you close to your target

Not true; the RB5 was sold in two versions, the 'RB5' and the 'RB5 WR'.

The WR version had PPP as part of its standard advertised spec, so it's not classed by insurers as a modification. The RB5 is group 18 (as opposed to grp 17 for the standard UK Impreza of the time) for this reason.

If you buy an RB5 that's not the WR version, you're actually paying more for insurance than you should, because the insurance databases don't know the difference.
