As written on advertisement

"""On a W plate. Imported from japan and all jap import subaru are faster and more powerful

than uk spec P1 or RA """

Strange statement??????

Where did you get the info on a uk spec type ra !!!!!

I thought you had it on auction.......There are some nice examples for sale on this forum so i,d rather buy a type r/ra from an enthusiast, rather than ebay..

You should be able to find a version 5/6 for the same money with less mileage i think.

Nice colour though ..

I think im right in saying you cannot get more than 300bhp from a classic without a bigger turbo. I would therefore take the power claim with a pinch of salt.

Depends wether you are looking for a modded or standard one. You could pick up a minter for the same money with low mileage that is pretty much standard.

These cars are awsome enough standard......

Oh yeah, white ones are the best

this is my friends car. the difference is with this and other sti's is that its a type r, its an jap import, its got a full rmo18 exhaust system not just your normal cat back system. its the full system.

as far as i no it has an upgraded turbo. i was shocked with the top speed my self. that is a true top speed. any questions or call the owner and he will be straight with you.

its in excellent condition, a nice example, an excellent car. well worth the money.if i had £10k i would buy it.

My version 5 Type R made 320 with only a decat so 300+ is easy on standard turbo. With the right supporting mods you might even see 350.

As for 170 mph.... no way.

Mine's running roughly 400 bhp and is set to run a whole lot more over the next week or so but it will not improve the top speed as you run out of revs. 170 would work out to roughly 9000 rpm so not possible on standard engine or gearbox.

and how where you measuring the speed? gps, speed trap, radar, laser etc or just on the speedo?

If it was just the speedo then be aware they over-read by up to 10%. My gps speedo showed 150 while my clocks showed almost 170. But like I said, impossible to reach that speed on my ratios.

automodellistagt has asked for honest opinions on both the car and the advert...............

Im sorry for the seller and his mate, but some of us have had modified type R's (know EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT - FIRST HAND) and 'This type R is running 320 bhp on only .9bar' is stretching it a bit far.

Yes the Type R is a fast car in standard form, and this car is effectively a standard STI6, with an exhaust. But I do not see any other breathing or fuelling modifications.

I have seen cars some make over 300bhp with a decat and some other mods, as the maps on these cars exceed the uk cars, simply because they are agressively mapped for 100ron petrol. Which is ok if you are running optimax and octane booster the whole time.

Having said that 10K is not a bad price for any STI6, but you have to consider that this one is almost standard, and you will soon want wheels etc...

But, the biggest threat to a Subaru engine is sustained high speed driving OR, sudden high boost uphill with a car fully loaded with people.

and 170mph on a standard Type R 5th gear - It aint going to happen. The speedo's overread and you only get 19mph per 1000 revs. 9000revs in top gear anyone???

Top speed 170mph + most sti only gets to 150-160mph

Innit

Probably a car that's been run on 95ron from asda, and been hammered from the second the key is turned....

Now I'll bet the owner will tell all his mates that scoobs are rubbish and all blow up
