Default UK STI, PPP STI or JDM STI?

Hi, next month I'm looking at spending around 13-14K on an STI but I'm not sure which one to go for? It's going to be a daily driver for me and I'll probably be modifying it pretty much straight away. I'm looking to get 350 hp so am I right in thinking a PPP STI or JDM STI would be better options? Are there any reliability issues with any of these versions and do they differ much in insurance / running costs? Currently I'm driving a 270 hp Leon Cupra R and I'm looking forward to something without FWD! Cheers.

Welcome to the board

A UK STI with PPP will be about 300bhp, around the same as an unmodified JDM model. If you want 350bhp - and do make sure you drive a scooby first to be sure about if and why you want that power - then you'll find it easier to achieve if you use a JDM car as your base for modification.

PPP already includes a good exhaust and ECU remap, so the most straightforward mods for gaining extra power have already been done - you may be looking at a bigger turbo and/or an FMIC to get 350. For comparison, recent JDM models can give 340bhp with just a complete exhaust system and remap.

For what it's worth, I drive a JDM.
