Hi All,

I am in the middle of tidying up my engine bay and doing some heat sheilding work. One thing I need to do is cover the underside of my chargecooler with some heat sheild material (glass cloth with shiny side stuff).

Can anybody recommend some glue to stick this cloth type stuff to aluminium ? Must be able to withstand about 110 degrees C without breaking down.

Cheers

Ian

There is a specialist company in Corby called Chemence Limited, who specialise in adhesives for industrial uses. Try calling them on 01536 402600.

We test many adhesive systems at my work place. In my opinion RTV adhesives (silicon type sealants) are very good providing everything is clean and will take up to 300°C. Dow Corning do a one part called DC-6.
