WRC 350 ppp package
I have seen this posted before. I have a 05 STI ppp, not to sure at mom whether to have this firstly due to the warranty aspect.
Anyone with ppp had this done can give a good review of this upgrade? i.e is the driveability ok etc, engine noise, fuel consumption etc. Im umming and rrrin over maybe going for it and need some convincing

I'd look at the Ecutek remap from Powerstation first, this seems to release 320 to 330bhp for £499+Vat (!!) from what I can make out from the Groupbuy section.

So the cost to you to get the car to 357bhp was
PPP = £2K?
Centre de-cat = £100???
Plus the richard bulner work
Headers = £???
up pipe = £???
Panel filter = £???
anything else?
Could you fill in the blanks and give us an idea on cost please?

with the ppp 1500 and it would fail an MOT
but if i hadnt had the ppp rb would charge 750 for sports down cat 150 fuel pump
you do the maths if your trying to compare with a certain £2880

Looking on the wrc web site it looks like £1595 if you start with a ppp car yeah. So we are looking at £269 more than you layed out?
To me it just look a slighty different way of going about a power hike? I would imagine Richard has lower overheads than these guys so £269 doesnt seem too excessive. You still get your 350bhp though.
Not exactly a rip off?

Thanks for the responses guys.
My car is already PPPed so its a bit of grey area I guess what a remap will do for me, it had its ppp done in dec04 when first registered so not long ago, and I havn't fitted any mods on top. I guess 15-20bhp tops I would think.

Personally I think the only time these packages are worth their while is if you start with a std STi. You then really notice a big increase, you already have 305bhp so an additional 10-15% may dissapoint.
The resale is also quite a big and important question. If you are thinking of trading the car into a main dealer, forget it, they wont touch your car with a barge pole......If you are going to sell in auto trader you have narrowed your market down considerably most people want std cars, you will also get non of your outlay back when you do eventually sell .......
Its worth considering.

Thats for a car without ppp and yours has ppp.
This is the package you would have bought?

They sell the sports CAT for those who choose that route on non ppp cars.......

That is the WRC 350 package...not the WRC 350 ppp package, this doesn't fail the MOT due to the fact the PPP sports cat system isnt touched so it still MOT friendly. The WRC 350 ppp is just ECUTEK remap, new TMIC and different Induction Kit that is all, unlike the basic WRC 350 package.
I think im going to stick out with my warranty for now still have 2 years left, mods will still be there in 2 years time

tbh i think your taking this all out of proportion youve started quoting packages etc. my point that i want to get across is simple
research your tuning properly
but also wanted to prove headers actually give u a good increase
also the wrc 360 package seems expensive in comparisant to my 357 for a lot less

Are you going after a headline BHP figure so it must be 350bhp etc or are you looking for an all round improved package? Unless you are just going in a straight line handling and braking improvements might be useful along with some extra bhp.
Consider all the options as the previous post advises. The Litchfield/Powerstation Type 20 upgrade which gives about 330bhp and massively improved handing is about £3.5K - and its worth remembering the Type 25 which the handling kit came from has been called the'best Impreza on planet earth' severl times!! You will find many people on here are advocates of the Powerstation upgrades. Powerstation and WRC Tech are rival companies so expect differing views on their products - I have no experience of WRC so can't comment on the package.

I have a 53 plate sti with ppp and will be going for the wrc package in a few weeks. I have about 7 months of warranty left. However car manufacturers cannot just void the warranty because you change certain engine parts they have to show that the change was detrimental. If it actual improves the strength, reliability or whatever of the car they would have a difficult time trying to prove otherwise. It's not as clear cut as (no ppp no warranty). the wrc350 won't fail your MOT as the cat is still in place any car that has it's CAT rmoved will most likely fail it's MOT but what people do to get around this is keep the cat and install it for the MOT and then drive around without it for the rest of the year. I may actually start a new thread asking the question does an upgrade to the engine actually invalidate the warranty and ask for answers with evidence.
I will tell you how the car drives after the WRC350 has been done.
