Car Hire Question
My type R was sent away for its service and I asked asked the specialist to diagnose a misfire. Turns out No.3 piston has a low compression and they'll need to investigate further. Not until the 14th March at the earliest though.
I've just sold my daily driver and am now faced with hiring a car.
Would anyone know of any companies out there that may hire out either a Mitsubishi Evo or Subaru Impreza for a week or two?
Failing that I'll have to get a corsa / Ka and the like.
Thanks
Esh

I work within the car rental business. IMO you'll find it nigh on impossible to rent one of these vehicles, because of insurance risks/costs and high chance of damage. I was offered a load of MY05 WRX a couple of months back. Whilst I thought of having one as a company runner for myself, there was no way they'd end up on our hire fleet.
If you do find someone (and there are specialist firms out there) you'll stand liable for a high insurance excess and prob a low mileage limit.

I remember dealing with a branch in Oxford a few years back. They had a customer who rented a Ferrrai 355 for 2 weeks. They took a £15k deposit !!!!!!! The guy came in with a suitcase and paid by cash. Stringent security checks had be done beforehand otherwise it could have been a cheap Ferrari. .

Cheers for responses. I suppose the best thing in my mind is to go with the Ka or what ever. I don't want to buy a shed and have to deal with any problems that may arise. If I'm going to be looking at new or nearly new cars to replace my daily I'll need to get around.

Spotted in Derby yesterday.
Silver newage WRX with Budget car rental sticker on drivers door.
Might be worth checking with them, got nothing to lose

You make a very good point here. I really can't argue with that.
Its the time it would take sifting through the rubbish cars to find one worth putting up with. Then time to shift it once I'm done with it.
Depending on the extent of the damage to my engine I would hope the car is back to me by say late next week. But who knows.
Ka is hired till the 15th costing £116.00. Not too bad!
I've ont got money to burn, rather a lack of time.
