Bugeye.....how to tell an import
Any ideas how to tell if a 2001 WRX bugeye is an import or UK car?
I need to know for my intended buyer.
thanks
Cliff

If you mean JDM, then easiest to spot would be rear wash wipe.. for an EU you could give the buyer your chassis number (if you are confortable doing that) he can ring any Sub dealer and they can confirm the spec/country in which it was sold, or the first PDI stamp in the service book will show selling dealer, if it was an EU import will be obvious from that..

The Import will be 33% cheaper than the proper UK car!

dosent matter if it is an eu pr parallel import, you get the same warranty cover and it dosent matter on insurance, but JDM status does (well used to)
so no we wont be kind

Well well well, all the kids are out to play tonight
Unfortunately Bryn it was a question of Jap or UK, and im gutted to say I missed a big flipping clue like a rear wiper!!!!
Anyhoooooo, my buyer is concerned because of my square plates
It must be an import if its got those eh!?
Or, how can I tell if my scoobs actually an Evo in disguise?
Maybe its a motorbike too

JDM also does not have electric headlight adjustment, but does have electric folding wing mirrors amongst other things.

I can understand where they are coming from there because it did make it look like an import.
Is it all on track still?

Haven`t got a clue to be frank. The buyer says the insurance company is trying to fleece him so he`s going to try Gary at Keith Michaels insurance.
I had hoped his insurance would`ve been sorted by now.

I dont think people realise how much Imprezas cost to insure. I dont actually know how old the guy is or what he drove before, but it doesnt sound like he`s had a high performance car if insurance is a problem for him.
