There was no UK STi v2, only a JDM Sti V2.
The UK didn't get an STi until much later New Age shape.
The V2 Sti JDM was Sep 95 to Aug 96 - don't know if it would benefit your car though, I would have thought probably not due to the differences between WRXs and STi engine components.
The Z4 (as you have said) is a good ecu, good map and can be used with Optimax on its own. I'd stick with it, or spend a lot extra and go down the Apexi road.
