Confused .the 1995 version 2 ra 555 . would this car come with the red manifold and the mcrae signed seats , i find they are easy to confuse with the vltd they made of the same year . from the cars i have seen so far the vltd has the red manifold but not the mcrae signed seats. and the 555 does not have the red manifold but does have the mcrae signed seats ??? in the past i was under the impression that all 555 had the red manifold but i recently was told the version 2 555 did not have the red manifold . could somone please shead some light on this before i buy the wrong car . cheers

im after a real 555 , not a v ltd 1 of 1000 . so the vltd would not have the mcrae signed seats but red top and a genuine 1 of 555 would have mcrae signed seats and no red top

The WRX STi version 2 555 should have black/grey STi seats, red manifold, c/f strut brace, silver-coloured intercooler.
The option code on the VIN plate should be either BK or BKC and it didn't come with a numbered plaque, whereas the V-Limited does (and the V-Limited is a 96 car).
There is not a version 2 RA 555.

To add to the confusion it has been said there was both a jap spec colin macrae edition and the first of the 555 editions (sti 2) out at a similar period- the 555 does have the red top manifold (main difference being the 555 did not have the signed seats whilst the macrae edition did) along with a v-limited edition afterwards....
The sti2 555 wont have DDCD (not sure about the colin macrae version) but will have an ic spray.

mcrae is a totaly different car. heres some pics of my old one to clear up any confusion over that one. apart from tints this was completely standard mcrae.

indeed, also, mcrae is uk car only, so should get full service history to as a bonus. lol
alot of 555 v limiteds get advertised as mcraes when they get imported because of the stitching on the seat, but true series mcrae was uk only and was only 200 made, well 201, but as i understand there were two 001 cars one was given to colin himself and the other to nicky grist. (maybe wrong on that bit)

the 555 sti was made in a limited run of 500 saloons and 100 super rare wagons,i have no writing at all except a 555 print in the inside of the boot lid which i only discovered the other day (yep it really stands out that much)
v-limiteds were made in limited runs of 555 and 1000 it gets a little confusing with these
the 555 sti is not the limited run of cars but just the sponsor at the time
hope thats helped alittle
