Hi steve, I have seen a few scoobs with boot lids which have leaked. These have been caused by the seal not being 'sqashed tight' because the striker plate is out of adjustment. If you open the boot loosen the striker plate on the body with the 2 10mm bolts and move the plate downwards. This will allow the boot lid to seal better on the seal. The best test is to get in the boot with a torch (OK for me as I'm a skinny git!)
Hope this will help m8
Cheers Col

If you get stuck in the boot there is a release catch on the inside

I've had several leaks in the boot of my 93 classic, it turned out that the lip that the boot seal attaches to had rusted through and whenever water ran into the channel under the boot lid it was running into the boot and seeping into the carpet and then into the rear seats, after a really wet spell the seats got so wet that the I had to put a towel on the rear seats. Now one of the rear seats is "two tone" as the water cleaned the dirt off the seat
There is also an access panel in the floor of the boot between the tyre well and back of the boot and I think that water may have been leaking in from there too but I sealed it up anyway.

Windyboy.
