Mate of mine has JDM STI 7 with 2.5L engine conversion in it, 330BHP/360ftlb of torque. We took it round Donington last Sunday and the car went great. Oil pressure went in the finish and bottom end was knocking like f**k.
I have stripped the engine down and found a few problems, apart from number 4 Bigend, and scrap crank!!! Think engine was run too low on oil, I know that when your ragging cars round a track running 1.5bar boost, lap after lap, they will start using oil and you need to keep them topped up, but when we took the sump off found the stock oil pick-up pipe was about 2.5" from the bottom of the sump, obviously we have issues with oil usage, and oil temprature, need to run aircooled oil cooler, but wonderd if anyone has had similar problems with 2.5 stage 3 conversions, or anyone that has managed to locate or modify oil pick-up pipe to sit lower in the sump???
Any advice would be great, but any help or advice on locating new crossdrilled L/B crank at cheap £££'s would be even better lol
