Japan wasn`t allowed to sell cars with more than 276bhp back then. thats why all sti`s, evo`s, and skylines are all quoted with that power as standard.
So some were probably putting out more. Some sites have the version 6 down at 300ps or 295bhp.

Try www.iwoc.co.uk Quite alot of info on there. Look under Japanese domestic market. Then the model designation. There is a list of all JDM cars with there model codes and power outputs.

ARRRGG!!
All it lists for the 2 I need is 280bhp/ps
surely there was a difference in the engine between 98 v4 and 2000 v6?
there must be a definitive list of stats somewhere?
For what its worth I'll call the main dealers and ask them in the AM but they just laughed at me last time when they asked why I wanted to know!

like i said all fast jap cars are rated at 276bhp. No one will quote higher. NO point in calling main dealer. They no bugger all about imports, and if they do they wont share it with you. They can be a pain just trying to get parts and servicing from.
