Petrol Prices

Just filled up with Optimax in Bishop's Stortford - now down to 77.9p / litre, only 4p more expensive than regular unleaded and 1p cheaper than LRP!! When was SUL last this price?
Then managed to set-off the alarm on the BMW behind me when starting up, causing a minor panic in the petrol station shop!

Bug eye wonder: Your spot on mate. Compare the prices from Northern Ireland to Southern Ireland and youll see why fuel smuggling is a MAJOR problem
sul: north 82p v 65p south
nul: north 78p v 54p south
diesel: north 79p v 47p south
All prices are quoted in stirling per litre.
It cost about 45 quid to fill the evo up north ( 50 litre tank ) and only about 30 quid to fill down south ( rough estimates ) A saving of 15 quid a tank cant be ignored.

here in good old n.ireland it's about 73.9 for regular unleaded. days ago it was 79.9 upwards. apparently the lack of flights is meaning that theres a real surplus of oil about and as the arabs want their money they won't cut production so we benefit
do people acutally use more petrol when its cheaper? i mean, the difference in price is nice, but for the average user i wonder what impact it has.
i guess if the prices where to stay down people would buy cars with more thristy engines!!
