A mate sold his T palte (45k) 1999 car with 17's & PPP for 7.5k 10 months ago so I would say yes, big style mate.

10k could well get you a newage 2002 STi, I recon 6.5k ish will get you a A1 99 UK car.

Chuff, it is well overpriced then!! I thought it was quite a decent dealer as well. Does anybody know any decent dealers around Chesterfield?

Would it make a difference if it had been well looked after? The dealer said this car has been serviced every 6 months, it's just had its 100k mile service at 36k miles and it's had the cambelt changed twice already?

Anybody know if I can more info on a car through it's reg? T611 CDT

all classics have a 6month / 7.5k service schedule. Car is as it should be m8. re info, ask the dealer for the old owner(s) details & contact them if you are really interested but you ca get a lot more for yr 10k or a nice 99/00 car for a lot less tbh

Most of the examples I have seen have done double that mileage, does anybody know if Scooby Clinic sell cars? I've heard they can be trusted, whereas I have never heard anything about Triangle.

Why 2 cambelts in 36k miles? Either he is BSing you or something is wrong.

For a T reg UK its well over priced. For another 2K you can get an early blobeye for that money.

Just out of interest, do you know if the car has had a private plate on it recently, as i cant find any info on the car at all

if the car has had a plate change recently, ie, in the last month, then the database may not have been updated yet.

but if its been on for longer than 28 days, i would say there is something wrong,

could be simple like the reg you were given is wrong, or even a mistake on the plate...

Manufacturer SUBARU
Model IMPREZA TURBO 2000 AWD
Body type 4 DOOR SALOON
Colour GREEN
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 31 December 1998
Number of previous owners 5
Last owner change 12 January 2006

my mate changed the plate on this one 5 weeks ago and thats all up to date

ask the dealer for the HPI report, it will have its old plate on that if this was the case, if it hasnt, he has a dodgy report

I've just bought a 99/V Subaru Impreza Turbo in DBM for £4k! Fair enough it's got 95k but it's got full subaru service history and loads of bills, plus the 90k service has recently been done.

Keep looking, there are plenty of good cars out there for half the price.

For 12k your into early UK STi territory, and thats with less than 50k on the clock, so yes, its seriously overpriced, shouldnt be over 7k for a good one.

there's plenty of Subaru franchised delaers not far from Chesterfield:

Monty's in Sheffield,
St ledger in doncaster
Lucas in Mansfield

Personally, I've found Triangle on the expensive side and yes Scoobyclinic do sell cars - they usually put them on Autotrader.

Hope that helps

Cambelts on a MY99 are changed every 3 years [or 45K] so a 99 T plate will have had a new cambelt in 02 & 05 regardless of mileage.

I was offered 10.5k against my 03 STi as a trade in, eventually got a bit more than that for it but as others say that looks well OTT to me. In saying that I did have a 99 Turbo and it was a lot more fun than the 03 STi so in those terms I'd say a 99 Turbo is worth more than an 03 STi any day :-)

However if you wanted an STi you might not have to wait too long until you could get one for 10k, specially now that there is a new shape out and they are coming to the end of their warranty. Just don't expect it to handle like the MY99.
