damage doesent look so bad in these photos - spoken to Privilage, they have arranged for Gilders in Sheffield to repair tomorrow....
How ironic, hit by a VW, repaired by a VW dealership

Hate when sort of thing happened to a new car.
Sue the driver for whiplash (I mean his insurer)
then spend the money later on the PPP option when it becomes available.
Hope he apologised, the BMW who crashed into the back of my previous car just sat in his car feeling sorry for himself my wife had to ask the idiot to get out of his car to inspect the damage. I sued for genuine wiplash (neck pain and heaches for months, only got £1900 from his insurer, used money to help with the upgrade to the scooby. This muppet kept going on about how much his insurance was going to increase by, paid no interest in the other driver (me).

Exactly why insurance premiums are so high!!
It's not America!

Sorry to be a boring b'stard, but :
Get in for some advanced driving lessons with RoSPA, and you will know when someone is going to pull out on you before it actually happens !!
3 types of drivers:
1. Those that have just passed a test and have no experience. As an accident is happening in front of them, they don't react or react after the event. Too late it's a crash!
2. Those that have been driving for a while and quite experienced. As an accident is happening they see it and react as it is happening. Usually resulting in a crash.
3. Those that have been driving for a while and have taken advanced driver training. They see the hazard before it happens, and take the appropriate precautions before it escalates into a crash.
The clues are there. After a mirror check, look into every junction off to the left and right. Make eye contact with drivers in junctions. If they are not looking at you, take it as though they havn't seen you and take the appropriate action.
Look at the type of car in the junction - Corsa with blacked out windows = young inexperienced boyracer. Red Micra - 104 year old Mrs Smith = never had an accident in her life, but caused hundreds without ever knowing it !!
Take note of how fast vehicles are approaching junctions, if you think "**** ME, I DON'T THINK HE'S GOING TO STOP", do something about it.
Once again, sorry to be a boring b'stard, but most accidents are avoidable.
95% of accidents are human error.
3% of accidents are mechanical failure.
2% of accidents are "Acts of God".
Rant over,
Regards,
Graeme.

An accident damaged & repaired "new" car is worth less than it was. Go after him & his insurers for additional depreciation. They will resist it but his action will otherwise leave you out of pocket - go for it!
I reckon about £1700 + vat would be about right!
You also want to be sure that the Subaru body & paint warranty is not prejudiced.

Doesn't Look like much ! Any good body shop will want to replace the rear Qtr panel. Had the same damage a few year ago on an S8 couldn't believe the bill or the amount of time the car was away. (Even taking account of the fact that it was aluminium ).
Always insist on the car being repaired by a Subaru dealer even if they then Sub the job out, no warranty worries then, and your insurers will not refuse on a car that is still under a paint and bodywork warranty.
Gutted for you !

4th Type of driver - Those who think they are fuc*ing great becuase they have had extra lessons and tell everyone how to avoid accidents by having mind powers so they know exactly what every other to$$er is going to do on the road.
Before you start - I have had extensive additional training and get annual refreshers as its part of my job and I know for a fact that you can only do so much.
"you will know when someone is going to pull out on you before it actually happens" Thats crap, you can get a better idea of what they might do but you never actually KNOW what they are going to do.
"95% of accidents are human error" Yep too right, usually the human error of the muppet who just hit you!

No one that I know off can read minds and yes I was in an accident where this happens as a passenger.
