This week's Autocar

Big article on New Impreza - seems Subaru claim to have reduced the understeer, and improved the interior. From the pictures I can agree the interior looks better - love the pedals - but Autocar doubt they have done much for the understeer. Also they reckon new car will be slower due to additional weight and bugger all extra torque.
Surprisingly there seems to be no mention of better brakes - additional weight and same old brakes seems destined for annoyance !

Was autocar talking s**t when it gave the impreza 5 stars in its road test a couple of years ago? Or is it just because they seem to prefer mitsubishis to subarus 4wd offerings nowadays
Personally, I find their road tests where they fully figure the cars a lot more informative than the macho, "...and entering a corner on a trailing throttle to kick the back out, whilst driving at night in mid-Wales when it's pi$$ing it down..." type b******* that appears in Evo half the time.

Without question, AutoCar magazine is the least intelligent automobile magazine in the English speaking world.
Their remarks about cars are always quick witted one-liners and broad generalizations about things like "great body control" or "it left car B for dead".
From year to year their remarks about specific cars change without reason.
The editors at AutoCar are living proof that good drivers do not make good reviewers.

Yeah,
I have never seen Evo or Car say things like 'great body control' or 'it left the other car for dead'!!!!
Autocar is full of pre-sales hype, like most of the car mags, but at least they are honest. For example they were clearly dribbling when they were hyping up the Renault 172 Sport - but when they drove it they said it was too slow and only gave it three stars. At least they are not hypocritical - just get a bit carried away.
Personally the most honest comments about cars relate to either long-termers or the second-hand reviews - then you get the real truth.

From what I saw on the stands yesterday, the WRX has the same 4 pots at the front as the UK car has now, but 2 pots on the back instead os the floating-caliper.
