Angry Damage to my Scooby - what will people leave on the road next?

Scooby took a big knock on the nose at the weekend, from a large chunk of metal left on the roadway.

Not too impressed with the Golf driver who drove right over it in front of me and kicked it up into my grill.

Could have been worse....... could have it the screen ... and occupants.

Ouch, that's a big chunk of metal to be sitting in the road. Didn't see any kids at the side of the road laughing did you? Quite likely it was chucked in to the road as a 'prank'....

As you say, just lucky it didn't kick up any higher - something of that size would have gone straight through the windscreen...

F**king Hell.

Rather through the grill, than the windscreen though.

That would of been fatal if that came through the windscreen, without doubt!!

You're extremely lucky / unlucky if you know what I mean.

Not as bad as yours but I drove over a transit van spring in the scoob which flipped up from the wheel and punched a hole in the side of the car.
Knew who it was but they flatly denied it so they would'nt have to pay up.

I hit a big ****ing piece of engine in my 306, took most of the underneath of my car with it! I was in a single lane tunnel with no where to go, had to hold tight and take the hit,

Still you where very lucky.

Sorry for damage to your car buddy.
That's just plain annoying, minding your own business, then Whack!
So pleased this is not the bikers section. Hope she's back to new and good as gold (blue) asap.
Lexx.
ps pleased no-one hurt physically, just gutting to look at damage.

I was in the fast lane of the M4 late at night, when I came across something in the road - nothing I could do except go over it as there were cars coming up behind and one to the side of me..

it was a block of concrete, ripped my sump to shreds....

Glad no-one was injured - it could have been nasty

Looks like part of the rear towing eye assembly from a Ford Explorer..

Ouch!

I doubt the Golf driver was too impressed either..

similar thing happened 2 me twice now.... 1st on single track road, pickup truck goin other way chucks a similar lookin chunk of metal off the back, hit the grill, bonnet and windscreen then flew off into oblivion. (just cracked screen though)
then following week a few touch ups etc later, drivin up a19 and a open top lorry chucks out some more metal crap and pebble dashes the bonnet.

was there any radiator damage there? excuse for a new modded grill though...

Hit a lump of metal last Wednesday night - couldn't avoid it. Cracked my sump Because of the holiday weekend I don't get my car back until tomorrow. Have had a courtesy car over the weekend - an Octavia 2 TDI. Could convert me to diesel motoring - 49 mpg at a steady 80mph on the motorway
