1st MOT

1st MOT
ALright ladies, my 03 sti is about to go in for its 1st MOT. It is bog standard bar a vortex back box and some rather tastey mud flaps. Should i be worriing about anything or checking anything apart from the obvious.
Someone mentioned that as they are highly tuned cars the emmisions may be a problem especially with the after market bb.
Also are scoobies made to perform as well as look the part. Want to put the car through its paces but am a bit scepticle as to the capabilities of the standard gear on the sti, are things such as the clutch performance models or just a stamdard impreza spec?

Regarding the MOT give it a good run first to ensure the cats are nice and warm for the emissions. The six speed box is rumored to be bullit proof Im pushing 360 bhp through mien and give it a kicking very often no probs, w=ish I had been on SN prior to getting my clutch changed as they can judder a bit but no real prob's from what I have seen on here. Hope this helps a bit steve.

The worst problem about the MOT is getting the mechies to treat your pride and joy with sympathy when they take it out for its 30 minutes brake test!!!!

PS. they MUST not use the Rolling road brake tester on a AWD as it F's the gearbox. They use a pendulum device on the floor of the car ONLY!!!!!!

I always INSIST on accompanying the car when they do the brake test!!
They are never gentle on cars, any car!!
A scooby is an invite to give it a good old ragging!!

There is no real need to take it out for longer than 2 minutes to do the brakes .... but, once they get the taste, 30 minutes isn't unknown - they take it round their girlfriends house and show off!!

They all liked my import though - they can't service them so they never see any

If they take your car out, all they want is a go of it.

Its alright chaps, it passed with flyoing colours except for the no plate lights being dead which was not a problem. As for brake test, it consisted of a how do you find the brakes. They seem to do the job mate. Good enough for me signed off.
