Third Party Warranty
#1
I'm shortly going to be purchasing an Evo that has no warranty. Does anyone have any experience of; WarrantyWise, Warranty Direct or any other such company? I am concerned about having a car like this with no warranty but the only comments I have ever heard is that "not worth the paper there written on"?
Has anyone got some real experience either making a successful claim or having a "valid" claim turned down that they would like to share?

I asked this very same question a couple of months ago in the 3rd party dealer section.
I think the general consensous (sp?) was that they'd always try and get out of honouring a claim if they could.
Also, they won't go near a modified car, which pretty much includes everyone on here
You're best off putting a little away each month into a "repair" fund IMHO. That's what I did, but unfortunately I spent the entire repair fund on so P1 alloys for my MY97

Hi Darren,
I've had experience with Warranty Direct, good and bad news. I had a gearbox failure on my Subaru Impreza.
Phoned their claims dept, who put me in touch with one of their approved garages, back street two man band. Not a good start. They then go over your service history with a fine tooth comb. Your motor would have to have been serviced at a main dealer all it's life, well within the service interval or you've got no chance. They stipulate you must have this type of service history, but their approved repairers are far from main dealers. Imagine leaving your pride and expensive joy with a dodgy looking outfit.
Eventually they agreed to pay, from start to finish it took 5 1/2 weeks, with no loan car. They tried everything they could to not pay, they did in the end, as I say after 5 1/2 weeks. Thanks for settling my £2000 repair bill, but I won't be using them every again.
Read the small print and read it again, and check your history before you do anything.
Hope this helps.
