HI,
Ive just bought a scooby that was suposed to have a relay problem on the fuel pump but has now turned out a bit more complecated (stupid i know).. the car turns over ok but will not start. the fuel pump has no power although it does work when power fed to it, there is no spark, the engine management light does not come on and all the fuses relays are working fine.. can anyone help!!

check the wiring block before the fuel pump for voltage to the pump -its been known to be problematic.
how do you know its not sparking?
do a search on 'ecu reset' and see what fault codes it gives you then repost
cheers richie

Check the crank sensor, connect it up to a multi meter, it should produce around 1 volt when cranking. If its duff the fuel pump wont fire up as the ECU thinks the engine is not turning.

The fuel pump should prime when the ignition is turned on.
Try doing a search for 'fuel pump'. There is a connector under the rear seat that can corrode and cause problems - if this is the root of the problem, it's an easy fix.

another one to check is the immobilisor (sp) it may not be working and preventing the fuel pump from energising, and the ecu wont do anything unitl it gets an ok from the immobilisor
