Default New Age ARB Thickness...

Is there a difference in thickness between Blob Eye WRX and STI ARB's?

My initial thought is that the STI ones would be thicker at 21mm, with WRX at 20mm.

IIRC the WRX rear is 19mm, and switching to the Whiteline 22mm adjustable reaps big handling improvements if done along with solid droplinks. Not sure on the spec of the front one, but it's on my list of to-do's.

i have the 22mm whiteline arb and the solid drop links

the differance it made was unbelievable, nowhere near as much bodyroll as before.

the cheapest/best mod you could do

Agreed and add a Whiteline anti-lift kit as well to eliminate understeer.

I haven't got the ALK, but the geometry set-up I have (not Prodrive) has eliminated understeer completely. My set-up also gives even tyre wear even under extreme (track) circumstances, unlike Prodrives settings which give uneven wear just on the road, let alone track.

Was the way I wanted to go myself with Whiteline but have also had a free set of STI ARB's offer to me and wondering if they're worth fitting (if they'll fit) to use some cash else where.

TBH mate even us STI boys change the stocker for the Whiteline one, so even if it did give you some improvement i cant see it being much.

Get yourself the adj 22mm ARB and some billet links and be amazed

unlike Prodrives settings which give uneven wear just on the road, let alone track.

If you had this done to your car and got uneven tyre wear then it wasn't done properly Our settings WILL NOT give uneven tyre wear in normal sprited driving, certainly never have done on any of our cars. :

I do agree with Mike.
I've had the prodrive alighnment settings applied for 3 years now and never had any uneven tyre wear. It's all in the care taken by the operator, laser rigs are great if operated by a good tech.

A quick question Mike, would it not be better to fit a thicker rear ARB for the prodrive suspension upgrade rather springs on the sti and wrx?
People seem to get better results by changing the arb than just springs, also changing the arb looks like a quicker and so less labour intensive job.

My 03sti is std btw, apart form the PPP kit. I'm happy with the std springs and set-up. But I am a driving god

I can only base my opinions on my own personal experiences. I had a very well known and respected independent Subaru specialist apply the Prodrive fast road settings and felt very little improvement, whilst suffering slightly exagerated tyre wear to the front inside shoulders. A friend of mine whom has a Litchfield Type 20 has also had the same effect. I had my set-up re-done by a family run firm with over 50 years of alignment experience, and was privileged enough to get the company founder do mine, along with all his years setting up road and race cars of many marques. I showed him the Prodrive settings which I had been given on here, and confirmed by finding as many instances of them being quoted as possible. He discussed with me the possible outcome of these settings and we agreed that he could use his own experience to modify them into as good a fast road set-up as possible. I am more than happy with the results which gave a significant improvement over the previous settings. If anybody wants to try them then feel free to, which is why I posted them up, even you Mike
