Thumbs up Just Imagine - For One Moment ...

What a cracking car would result from the Alfa Romeo Design Team getting together with Subaru Engineers!!!!

Imagine, if you will, the beauty of the Alfa with the solid reliability of the Subaru!!

People would kill for a machine like that, don't you think?

I think it's about time they give the blind, deaf and dumb designer at Subaru his P45.

Not sure about an Alfa, but they need to innovate, not blow bubbles in thick soup and copy what they see.

Yes, I own an Subaru.

But what if they produced something with the appearance of the Subaru and the reliability of the Alfa?

(Didn't Winston Churchill suggest something very similar? )

(edit - no, it was George Bernard Shaw)

Is that an attempt at humour? The Subaru head of design is responsible for much of Alfa Romeos current range, and the MY06 Impreza which explains why it looks so good.

WTF are you lot on ??? Alfas are even uglier than Subarus! that fecking ugly 156 with the V in the bumper that looks like it has been crashed into a pole with the offset number plate is a design disaster, all Alfas look the same and now that Subaru has employed that ex alfa designer the new STI 9 looks just like all the ugly alfas that he designed before he was fired, now he is ruining Subaru by making them look like fugly Alfas, when will Subaru learn ????

Not only are Alfas fugly they are unreliable to boot.

I have to say I agree with some of the comments above, Alfa's are an acquired taste and I think they are dog ugly..

IMHO The problem with the Impreza is its trying to be "under-stated" but failing miserably. They seem to try and give it grown up car looks but at the same time make it look like a hot hatch.. I think they need to take a leaf out of BMW's big book of designs. Although saying that some of the recent offerings from BMW are a bit strange!

I don't believe it, actually agree with PSLewis...

The 159 with real Impreza running gear would be a very special car.
Bit smaller than the Sti 8, closer to the honesty of the Classic Impreza in size.

As to Rannoch: I think that would have been very believable when that was done in the 80's, but the Alfa V6 would see off the flat four's soundtrack?

The Alfa 156 is a great looking saloon, I still think so every time I see one now. Even the rear is beautiful. And yes, I own an Impreza.
