Question Should I be worried about my tyres?????

Just had my 05 sti 10k service and my tyres are really worn out at the front they measure...

Front = 1.6mm (more like 2mm when I checked them)
Rear = 5mm

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought because it's 4wd they should wear fairly evenly?

Cos it's an o5 sti it's has the auto dccdcdcdcdcdcdcd type thing on it and I do tend to corner hard but I wouldn't of thought it would wear down the front that much!

Any recommendations on cheap places to get 2 new re070? I know in an ideal world I should replace all 4 but theres no way I'm going to replace 2 tyres with 5mm of tread left on.

Thanks
Andrew

With WRXs it is recommended that tyres are rotated front to back every 6k to even out wear. I assume STIs are the same, though as you say, DCCD will make a difference.

mine were similar about 4mm on the back and 2mm on the front. I use the rear bias on the DCCD quite alot at weekends when playing so more power goes to the rear.

The reason your fronts wear faster is that the front wheels steer so the friction on the front tyres is far greater everytime you turn a corner.

The reason above is right as well as you have more brake bias to the front of the car too
