Default advice on tinting

got my type ra an it needs tints......just wonderin what other ppl have had done and how much........obviously i dont want any hassle off jonny law but would like to black out the rear passengers windows and i was wonderin what the law is ,is it still 25% light restriction ur allowed or was tht in the good old days lol

exactly i dont know, a quick google search will bring it up for you though


also, any decent window tinting place will make you sign a disclaimer for them to fit anything other than legal tints, im sure a quick call and they will be able to advice you

You can do what you like to the rear windows, just don't touch the front ones

Totally legal m8,you can do all glass including front doors,just got my 99 classic wagon done for £260.00 ,Everything but the windscreen and it looks the biz in dark smoke,so i would say no more than 200 for prof job ,I did have a go,DIY but totally screwed it up so opted for the professional.Even my insurance co approve as a security matter,great if you get carjacked or anything hits a window as it keeps the glass in one piece,safe!!! sorted!!!

Right, to settle this so you know the LEGAL stance on this one, have a look at the screen shot....

This was taken from the VOSA PDF download, so dont listen to bullsh1t, read the law and then decide on what way you wish to continue...

i have recently had my classic wagon done.. got limo on the back's and 15%on the front's.. legally u r not allowed to alter the level of darkness on the front windows but most cops wont hassel ya...hope it helps..

according to the above screen shot you are allowed to tint fronts
