Post How easy will it be to sell my Bugeye?

After 7 months off owning a scooby I think its time I sold it as i'm purchasing my first home and need as much money as possible.

I'm selling a remapped bugeye in mint condition and wondered how easy it will be to sell. Has anyone sold any bugeyes recently. I don't want to advertise it for months on end and get the occassional person to take it for a test drive and never hear from them again. Is it worth just trading it in as i'm going to buy a work van with some of the funds or is there a good chance it will sell privately. 02 plate with 35000 miles and a FSSH. How much?

Thanks

Paul

If you want to sell it quickly price it accordingly ....... Have a look in auto trader and on here for prices.

I've had a look on autotrader and the trouble is the prices vary so much. Two bugeyes with the same spec can be £2000 different. I don't owe money on the car so I suppose I could sell it at a low price and hope someone takes it off my hands.

I hate selling cars its such a nightmare.

Have a look on here and see what looks about right ....... If you really want shot quick take it to a dealer, but you will have your pants pulled down.

V5 MAN had a good crack at it, he gave up in the end.

Totally agree with the range of pricing, i'm looking to sell my Type R and when you look the prices go from one extreme to the other.

If you want a realistic price your going to struggle but if your willing to take a hit in the pocket then the chances will be higher.

I'm after a Citroen Berlingo Van and they offered me £7500 for mine and the Van is £6300. I will get the VAT back on the van though. Think its about £950. Hard decision!!

280 BHP to Smokey diesel!!

Thats what I use too and its been excellent. Its only that i'm self employed now so I need a Van. What problems have you had? Any suggesttions on a good Van to buy? I know this is a scooby site but a few of you must use vans for work.

Admitedly mines the non turbo, or if it is it's got 6k worth of lag

But i get about 400 miles to a tank, and being a diesel you'd expect more. I know the Vauxhall van's are superb, i had an Astra for a year better mileage and great performance, the Combo uses the same engine [1.7tdi] and it's like driving a car, not a diesel, get down your local dealership and have a test drive, admittedly they are more expensive but if your paying you own fuel costs, i certenly wouldn't look at a berlingo.
The Transit connects again aren't bad, but the best thing is try and get some test drives. if you use it for work then your going to spend plenty of time in it which means it's got to be comfortable, and over all be happy with it.

The Berlingos are cheap, and cheap for a reason.

Now go get some test drives.......although you might want to leave it till tomorrow as they'll be shut

Have to admit the berlingos are very sluggish vans but really not keen on Vauxhalls. They have not got the best rep in the world. Would love a VW caddy TDi but they are still a fortune. I need to keep my expenses as low as possible.

£7500 doesn't seem too bad for a trade-in, I wouldn't have thought you'll get much over £8k for it private.....

I have a 15,000 mile 2004 Ford Transit Connect which I am looking to shift now as I closed down the IT business I used it for. Really good nick too as it only had light use!
Just bought a Bugeye which is a shame as could have done a deal, though it's an STI which is what I wanted for the brighter interior and bigger brakes.

That was £9200 54,000 miles 2 owners FSH etc.

Good Van, great size! Reliable and it's an LX so it has CD player, leccy windows, heated front screen etc.
