why me????
i bought a scooby wrx 94/95 import version at the beginning of the month and the garage that sold it to me diddled me by selling it to me with a duff head gasket. i took the car back to them with a slight grumble and they agreed to get it sorted for me. this was two weeks ago and i still haven't got a clue when i will be getting the car back or where it is as they refuse to tell me where they have sent it. everytime i ring them they get verbally abusive and when i rung them this morning after being promised that i would get my car back yesteday i told them that i was considering involving the police. with that i was told i was ****ing mad and he slammed the phone down on me
what woudl you guys do in my situation????

Surely get in touch with something like the Citizens Advice Bureau or something. At least somewhere that can offer you sound advice as to how to deal with the situation.
Failing that you could always take a few mates around to said dealer and introduce him to your 'persuasion stick'. (OK, probably not the best idea!)

woh i wasn't expecting those kind of responses. the thing is though he advertised the car in the auto trader and came across at first as being a decent chap thats why i was interested, and especially in the low price (£2,400).
the only paperwork i got with the car was the mot, the receipt and the log book which i have sent back to the dvla but have had no response from them yet either and the tax runs out tomorrow on the car!!!
so you guys think i have been ripped off?

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHEAP IMPREZA WORTH BUYING!!
MOT and Receipt and LogBook is actually all the paperwork you need - 3 weeks is normal for the DVLA to get back
Buy from a proper dealer next time and pay a bit more ....

Problem with cheap Imprezas in general - they may be cheap to buy, but parts and repair costs dont get any cheaper on them just because they are old, and older cars are more likely to need major work doing.
It does sound like the guy knows full well that the car was a shed and had problems - personally I wouldnt want the car back, even repaired, as you dont know what other (expensive) surprises its got in store - go for getting your money back, find a decent dealer and spend more money on something safer.

no, i don't touch that ****, and it wasn't crack he was smoking it was weed, i can understand that some of you think that i was a **** for buying it, but because it was advertised in the auto trader i didn't think it would be dodgy cause they don't allow that kind of thing to happen, do they?

Some well dodgy people stick some ****e in the autotrader, loads of dealers posing as private sellers. I think you are best getting your cash back .if he is a legit dealer you should have had at least 3 months warranty but it sounds like you are better of without that lemon.
thislooks a better bet

they dont care who advertises cars with them, look at private sales, they just turm up take the picture, print it and thats it, they dont check up on you to make sure you are a decent guy?!!
god knows what else could be wrong with it, you need to take the car to an independet garage or if you are in the aa or rac get them to inspect the vehicle, then take the report back to the dealer and get all the problems sorted, dont drive it though until it has been checked because the sales guy will just be able to say you could have wrecked the car after buying it!
