Default DIY: STi Grille Badge..

The other half wanted the pink STi badge for the grille, its hard to find a "proper" one on ebay for a good price and I remember back in the day I used to know a trick with the old Ford badges, you use wet and dry on the back of the badge to take the colour paint off and the chrome parts are sunk into the plastic so you cant rub them off..

Anyway I rubbed down the back of the standard badge, got some pink paint, sprayed a light coat on the back of the now transparent badge, then applied a thicker layer of silver to get the right kind of shade.

It worked a treat and I will post some photos later.. Only takes a few minutes, might sell a few on eBay lol

Just thought you guys might be interested

Or you can use acetone (nail varnish removoer) to remove the black paint and then colour the badge.

I had mine in blue on my last Bugeye.

The results of using Acetone and Cellulose thinners is down to luck of the draw, the plastic some times reacts badly and discolours or the chrome goes a bit manky.
