Default MY06 STI FUEL CONSUMP?

Still running in my 06STI (UK) at the moment (600 mile), but the fuel consumption is a bit worrying to say the least!

Only getting about 230 to a tank (optimax) whilst driving like miss daisy!!

Had a MY53 WRX with PPP before and it was loads better on fuel??

Will this get better once the car is run in, or much worse when the playing begins!!!

Anybody put my mind at ease - or not????

Well MY05 STI ppp does er about 20mpg about 220-250 tops and thats with some 'fun' thrown in! Yours sounds about right, 2.5ltr engine maybe sucks that bit more but who buys an impreza for mpg

from 7mpg@ the ring to 19-20mpg as a daily drive to 26mpg from MK - Cardiff - Preston - MK (550 miles, most in traffic off boost.) Never seen 26 before & doubt will ever see again.

My 06Sti now has 900miles on it and ive been getting approx 270 to tank which is actually a big improvement over my 03Sti.

I expect that to reduce though when it has had its 1k service and PPP added next Monday

STi MY06 with 3K miles on it, and I am getting 20-24mpg generaly, but achieved 28.4mpg on a longer motorway run at 70-75mph.
The gauge doesn't read like my previous Imprezas, and looks as though its far worse than it is, but when I then brim the tank its not as bad as it looks.
You can drive 60 miles and the gauge looks as though its used at least a third of the 13 gallon capacity, but it hasn't.

Cheers

I suppose there had to be a down side to STI ownership!

I agree on the guage difference. Qtr tank and only done 40-50miles, used to see 90mles to the first qtr on my old STi8 but by half tank used in the new Sti I have done more miles.

Very worrying the first time I filled it up and only got 40 to qtr tank.

The other day my tank was showing 3/4 full and I'd only done 30 mile! That was after brimming the tank!

My previous WRX PPP was only just showing full on the guage at 30 miles!

Glad it's just a scary guage on everybody's 06 STI!

would there be much difference between 2.0ltr and 2.5ltr in fuel consumption
Currently running a 2003 Sti, I fill up with about 45-50 litres and i'm lucky if i see 250 miles
make the most of it while fuel is still relatively affordable ... would not be surprised to see £1.50 a litre in a few years

Why the hell did they change to that 2.5 if the mpg is still in the low 20's?
I thought the whole idea behind the 2.5 was to make a more Environmentally friendly? or have I missed something.

emissions dont equal fuel consumption

you should expect around 260 to a tank - that is what i get on my 06 STi with a few mods. (sometimes more sometimes less)

surely an engine that burns cleaner should have a better mpg?

Had my 06STI PPP since March and have done over 6k, 3k with PPP and can report that it's much more fuel friendly than my old 04 WRX PPP.

I am averaging 26mpg with mixed driving giving over 320 miles to the tank and can see around 29mpg when just doing motorway work

Cool, better performance with higher mpg cannot be bad.

I bloody hope it is, and not down to the exahust/remap you've done. Otherwise my fuel bill is about to get a whole lot worse.

I currently get about 240-250 from a tank of optimax. From full to light-ish.
