Default Newbie Help Please

Hi all,

I'm currently the owner of a modified BMW 328 but thinking of moving over to the dark side before I get too old! lol

This is my car at the minute although I will be selling in a couple of weeks.

Now yesturday I took a '03 plate STi Type UK for a test drive. Felt lovely, perhaos not much quicker than mine in a straight line but seemed light and I loved the short gear ratios etc. However, I can't afford a car at that price at the minute. I could afford a normal WRX but have been told I would be dissapointed with it compared to an STi, I also prefer the look of the slightly older ones really.

Now, I only want to spend around 9k. I want a turbo obviously and I want something to drive in the evenings and weekends and have some fun in. I'm unsure about all the previous versions though.

Probably a stupid question but what's a Type R? Are they all imports or versions of STi's? I don't want to go an buy a car and then realise there was something much better I could have had for the same money.

What would you buy for 9k? Any help appreciated.

Regards,

James

My MY2002 Bugeye STI 7 UK CAR was £9200

54,000 miles
Uprated Turbo
Full decat
Uprated Fuel Pump
Uprated Injectors
Uprated Fuel Regulator
ECUTEK TEK 3

VERY Quick car and with just 2 previous owners and full history was a very good buy. Just had to be patient and wait for the right one!
