Default Newbie from Hertfordshire

I thought i'd join up as im considering an Impreza in october. Im currently driving a CTR which has been fantastic but I crave more power and a DCCD! I'm put off by the servicing costs of the Evo and the Elise/Exige so the Impreza is top of the list

My budget will get me a year old STI, maybe stretch to adding the PPP. That way ive got the reassurance of 2 years warrenty. Whats peoples views of this car.

I have no knowledge of ownership so expect alot of questions. I hope your all as friendly as the guys and gals on www.civictype-r.co.uk .

No not me im afraid. Wilsons in Chelmsford have a good selection of STI's at the moment and they are main dealers for Lotus and Mitsubishi so I can try all cars out if im parting with close to £20k. I don't mind travelling to find the perfect car. Blue does look best IMO, I don't want another black car, too hard to keep looking nice. I'll be tracking the car so expect the running costs to mount up! Just got the small issue of insurance 23, 3NCB 0 points..touch wood. Greenlight are great insuring CTR's but I spoke to Neil and he said they can't insure me because the car is over £12k. I'll be trawling the insurance section for a while on here!

Do you mean Keith Michaels? Keith Richards is in the Rolling Stones Looks like my 1st port of call for insurance, most mainstream companies will not want to touch a 23 year old in a 300bhp STI

Stanstead Abbotts, you welcome to come along to our CTR meet 7pm 21st May @ The Sun pub in Hoddesdon. There's about 15 CTR's at the moment, the guys and gals from the Bedfordshire area are even making the journey down for it.

Is everyone welcome? Equally, all the CTRs are welcome to the Herts Subarus meet. Previous meets have hosted Evos, 200SXs, Suzuki Ignis Sports, even trackday weapon Golfs!

Yeah, you'll be out numbered by CTR's though

The venue has changed though, its same time and date but moved to the Fish and Eels in Dobb Weir, there was a parkin issue with The Sun pub.
