Red face !!How Much!!

Need to change the up-pipe on a MY99 and port the headers+cross pipe.
Went and purchased all the relevant Gaskets from the dealer 7 in all.

Drop pants, and that will be £70.32 inc the VAT sir.
FFS that is just taking the p1ss.

Anyway after the shock, has anyone done this, and are there any pitfalls.

Have changed a Clutch before, but does the down pipe have to come off again, to get at the up-pipe.

The H&S uppipe has no studs/bolts supplied, are these taken off from the old unit? If not what do i require (Thread size) as i need to purchase all the parts before i start.
Dont want the car off the road for more than a weekend.

Thanks in advance

Harvey could defo answer that for you. He's the header/up/downpipe expert.

Getting mine done on monday, so i don't know i'm afraid. Can't be a big job as i've been quoted £200 all-in for fitting: headers, uppipe, downpipe, full exhaust and fuel pump.

That's very cheap IMO. The fuel pump is reasonably time consuming because you have to remove the back seats, etc - at least 1/2 hour. IFAIK, the up pipe is pretty time consuming too, at least a couple of hours???

Hold on, so i need to buy some extra studs to fit these parts?? Can't you take off the originals and use those?

I'll need to know as i'm in the garage on monday!! Not heard it mentioned before.

You won't need any extra studs unless you bought any extra holes

Having taken off the down pipe before, you will find things can snap, the up-pipe may be the same, so I wanted to cover all avenues, it looks like the up-pipe secures to three studs on the turbo, the others fix to brackets. I will know better when I get the thing apart.

Well here's hoping it's OK then. It is only an 04 and 16k miles. Made me nervous now...
