Default Replacement wiper blades

Right, the OE ones have p!ssed me off enough, smearing all over the place. It's time for a change. Can anyone recommend some good replacement ones?

I think £35 for the PIAA Silicone ones on ScoobyWorld is a bit expensive, so i'm after other alternatives.

Never tried the PIAA's ones and never will at that price

Cheers,

Wilkinsons do wiper blabes at £1:25 each (the whole lot - not just the rubber).

At that price they are replaced both in Spring and Autumn.

PIAA are a waste of cash
Don't get me wrong - they are good wipers, but they are good wipers that come with a rain-x soaked cloth. The wipers do not coat the screen with silicon

Yeh but the blades are made of silicon so u dont need the wipe really, it jus aids in helping them 'bed in'. Ok they are expensive but youre paying for the PIAA label mostly. However they are superb, absolutely no smearing or drag/screaching even when the screen is bone dry.

Not been overly impressed with my Bosch wipers, they have worn very quickly and dont seem to clean the screen fantastically well. Dont get me wrong, theyre better than the pathetic OEM attempts, but I expected better for the money tbh.

Have to agree with you pete, at £1,25 each you can afford to change them every few months and the money saved you can by decent stuff like oil and decent brake pads!

Although I've not tried any others on the scoob, the PIAA ones I have now are the only blades I've ever had (any car) which don't wind me up at all.

Sad, I know, getting annoyed about wipers; I don't lose any sleep over it, I just hate juddering wipers etc.

No, no no, get the PIAAs: your windows are less likely to frost over when cold (within reason of couse), you don't need your wipers on motorways and you thank yourself for spending the extra money every time you use them.

Another one sold on the PIAA sales pitch
Next time anyone buys PIAA - don't use the "special" wipe they provide, then come back in 6 months and tell me that they coat the window in silicon

Bosche gets my vote - the PIAA ones in my opinion are not worth the money as there is no difference, I use rainx anyway.

I've had 2 sets of PIAA's and never used the silicon sachet included....

Whether they're any better than the bosch or not I can't comment, but they are at least eleventeen thousand four hundred and two times better than the oem blades

I bought PIAA's, waste of time and money, even used the sachet.

Terrible wipers leave a smear of water across the windscreen, and anyone wjho drives on the motorway and doesn't use wipers need their license taken away...

There's no wilkos near me in scotland, and no online store.
So the fuel driving to the nearest one would outway the savings.
There's a halfords near by.
Don't fancy changing wipers every 6m odd.
Bosch ones seem mid-priced and well recommended.

There's 5 reasons for you.

Might just whisper.......

Used various blades including Bosch, and found the OEM blades to be the best!
Not had any juddering, clean very well and are on 12K miles.

Whispering stopped!

I've just been for some OE ones this morning from the local dealer.

£19 for the pair, Bosch ones and they fit them for nowt so didn't even need to get the hands midly dirty .

Halfrauds were way more expensive for the same wiper.

Another vote for PIAA. Had my last set for almost 3 years. Will definitely go for another set.

PIAA ARE well worth the money IMHO. I've found them to be the best wipers I've had.

I thought the sachet was an alcohol cleaner..? Either way they are better than decent wipers + rain-x. Plus you don't after keep reapplying it every week or two..!

Totally agree with you on that, have just put my second set on after nearly 3 years, no smearing and no noise. Miles better than the original one's.
