Just wondering does anyone know of a program where I can rotate a video image, I just need to rotate the video image 90 degrees.

Downloaded VirtualDub, but how do you go about rotating the image??? Having a bad day so far...

VirtualBub is a superb application but it isnt even remotely user-friendly. Ive suggested PDE because its a piece-of-**** to use. The 'rotate' function is used for phones and PDAs with 240x320 screens and its found in the right hand panel after youve clicked 'advanced options'. Also select 'direct stream copy'; this means that the video stream isnt processed, beyond being rotated.

let me have a look; Ive only ever used it where I have pre-selected 'PDA' in the initial option/splash screen. If need be you can resize the video back to source resolution after choosing 'PDA' though.

Yes; its only an option when you select 'PDA' as your device type. Choose PDA and then correct the resolution using the 'outut dimensions - change' button. You will see a large PDA icon in the top of the advanced options panel now; clicking it rotates the image as depicted.

If you choose 'direct stream copy' then yes, because it wont actually be processed beyond being rotated.

It only works if i play the existing file through the play an encoded file option.

I cant get it to make a duplicate of the exisiting file, with it just being rotated...Does anyone know anyother way of doing this???

I too would be interested. I keep falling into this trap with the digital camera.

OK:

1. 'File menu -> open video file', then select the source file.
2. Under audio menu, make sure 'direct stream copy' is selected (black dot next to menu item)
3. Under video menu, make sure 'full processing mode' is selected (as above)
4. 'video menu -> filters', filters box opens, click 'add', select 'rotate', choose rotation, click OK
5. 'video menu -> compression', slect required video codec (+ set any options). If unsure about original codec, select 'file -> file information' to see what is currently used.

There are loads of other options to resize etc. if required, just experiment, saving as new files each time.
