Trackdays and tyres

My tyres are pretty shot after 1 trackday and 18,000 miles, the edges are worn (fronts don't have any tread left for the outer couple of cm's) but they still have about 5mm tread on for the rest of the tyre.
I have been offered a set of Bridgestone RE07's which have done a couple of hill climbs for 50quid each.
Question is : the bridgstones are 225 45 17 mine are 215 24 17 will this cause a any problems, plus would you use the original tyres for another trackday or put the Bridgestones on?
Standard 05 WRX rims by the way.

With more than 4mm difference in the tyre walls front to back I wouldn't risk mixing the sets for the sake of the centre diff.
The RE070's have extremely rigid sidewalls which will tramline like a bugger until they have a bit of temperature in them. The can also be scary in the wet, especially if you run onto a white line whilst braking into a corner
Apart from that they are superb in the dry. I have a set that have done two trackdays and I still use on the road with over 3mm showing. On both those days I started the day with my winter tyres and destroyed the NSF, but the RE070's hold up to the abuse very well.
The Bridgestones will not cause any problems whatsoever, apart from they should be on an 8J wheel. Not sure whether standard WRX are 7J or 7.5J
But they should fit. Speedo will be 1.4% out, showing 60mph whilst actually doing 60.9mph.
More importantly, get your geometry set like this...

On my last trackday (and on the road) with these settings I got perfectly even wear across the whole tread. With the previous Prodrive settings I had similar problems to you, even on the road, as do most of my mates whom run the Prodrive settings.

BTW I wouldn't have put different makes of tyres on my car let alone different widths!!

If damp I go to 40 cold and check them after the first run and they seem to settle at 42. If dry I put 42 in cold and they settle between 44-47. However, Gary has much, much more track experience than me, so take his advice before mine.

Also I had the geometry done at Powerstation when I had my Eibachs fitted, I did't get a printout as the laser machine was playing up.
However I have just ahd the rear struts replaced due to knocking anf had the Prodrive setting put in by the dealer. I have to say it feels much better already, but I obviously don't know about tyre wear yet.

I have moved to Toyo Proxes for my day2day tyres as my RE070's were getting low, but I have kept them for track days as they are awsome in the dry when warm and on flat surfaces. £200 for a nearly new set sounds pretty reasonable to me considering a new set (if you could get them) would be nearer £450
