UKpocketgps (or something) has a database you can download for £19 per year (unlimited updates)
The Optimax stations are added via "poi's" (points of interest) if you do a Google search, you can find lots of different types!
Check out the German ones
http://www.xbox-deals.co.uk/
Check out the above link, there is a tomtom price check thing (but also check Froogle and kelkoo etc)
Had mine few months now, once you understand the way it "thinks", it is very good.

I don't have any affiliation with ukpocketgps!
They offer the locations with different icons, mobile, Gatso, traffic light etc, and with the last known speed limit of that location, which I find helpful.
I did some searching around for location databases after getting TS10 last year.
Wonder if you can get a speeding fine going through red light?

I guess the 'traffic light' may be one of those older style cameras set-up to catch people jumping the lights at certain junctions?

I've just bought a bluetooth GPS system for my mobile phone, put it on your dash board (about the size of a pack of 10 ****) links to your mobile phone (only certian ones) or PDA or laptop. Then uses TOM TOM software for the Sat Nav and also Speed Camera alert.
Works with Nokia smart phones (6630,6680,N70,N80,N90 etc) and probably otheres.
I paid £41 inc p&p for a 32 channel GPS box off ebay, getting the software free off a mate which takes about 130mb on your memory card, cost me £22 for a 1GB mini sd card so got Sat Nav for £63.
You can these systems with the software for about £180.

If you are not bothered about the European maps been included, how about the Tom tom one. Just bought one recently for £239. Its smaller (thinner) than other Tom Toms and can fit in your jacket pocket easily when away from the car. UK map included on 128MB SD card. Though suggest a larger SD card (had one anyway 256MB) for downloads of other voices, speed cameras and other POI`s (points of interest - hundreds available free). It charges via the cig lighter or you can buy a home charger extra.
Sucker mount included but optional alternative mounts aviaalbe (air vent/dash mounting plate)
Has 2 hour battery life away from charger, so you can use it anywhere. The portability did it for me.(and price)
Been using it for a few weeks, signal 100% reliable so far, no problems.
Just seen you have bought a sat nav... still idea still stands for others

Hi - easiest option and cheapest is to grab a Nokia 66 series phone or the new N70 and install TomTom mobile and get yourself a Bluetooth GPS receiver - can't go wrong !!
I've got loads of receivers so feel free to drop me a PM. Can also help further if required.
cheers

managed to get this far with installing the safety cameras but I cant get further than this, any ideas??
Please connect the power supply to your TomTom GO and switch ON your TomTom GO. Next, make sure your TomTom GO is connected to your computer, that a Storage Card is inserted, and then press the "OK" button. Press the "Cancel" button to return to the Setup menu.

Promotion codes are printed on a voucher (included in the box of your product) or distributed by our partners.
Product codes, usernames, passwords, etc are not valid promotion codes.
Please login to your TomTom account first. That will allow us to link your promotion to your account.
Please note: Make sure you have entered your device and device code in the 'Select my device' pages (this will allow us to prepare the services for your device).
Hope this helps!

There is also a tick box along the lines of "only alert if on route"
If you are going north and the camera is facing south, it won't alert you.
I haven't used the Tomtom supplied scamera db for some time now, but double check it differentiates (spelling?) between spot and average speed cams.
Do some prt_sc's if you are still having trouble and post on here.
I'll help if I can.

I thought you could buy a PDA and install TomTom on it. Is that the case? I'd prefer to do that, as i can use a PDA for other things.
Anyone done that? How much would that be compared to a dedicated TT700?
