Subaru lost the Plot ?
Classic - cool car , had one for a year , loved it , bugeye , blobeye whatever you wanna call it , got one now a wrx , takes some getting used to but still love it , peanut eye !! not bad, new one ( looks like a feckin Mondeo ) for goodness sake wheres the consistency , can we just have a new scooby based on the old one with an interior and bigger specs..... ? I cant even begin to imagine buying the latest one and can see why you dont get so many waves any more, too many nonscooby fans will buy that monstrosity.

Yes theyve lost it - you only need to look out for number of MY06's on the road to see that customers have given up with Subaru.
Classic was great, but it was downhill from there, and theyve never recovered.

The latest Subaru is the only Subaru that i have driven that can replace my RB5 WRSport. I have put my money where my mouth is and take delivery on 13th June. Its fast, quiet, torquey and very good value for money. Have you priced an Audi with 4WD and 280Bhp?
In 7 years of ownership my RB5 never went wrong, my Legacy has never gone wrong and thats what i want from a car.
My 3 volkswagens, 2 of which i still own, have all had stupid faults needing unscheduled trips to the dealer, i actually expect more from VW but get less for my money as far as reliability is concerned.
I tried 2004 Sti/2005 Sti PPP/and now 2006 Sti and without a doubt 2006 model has been best driving experience. I have also tried EVO 260 and MR340 and was a little worried as quite an inane driving experience, anybody could drive one fast, but i bet when it goes wrong it goes very wrong.
The 2006 Sti will be my 3rd Impreza since 1997 which is a little worrying i think as it seems i may have an Impreza problem.

A Classic shape Subaru just wouldn't comply with todays legistlation and by the time it did, it wouldn't be in the Family saloon class 5 seater it would need to be either a 2+2 or 2 seater Class. Would enough impreza owners buy a GOLF, FOCUS, CUPRA, CIVIC sized car.
There are lots of Subaru owners who'd by it if were in any class and lots that wouldn't. Hence the Subaru Dilemma sell to the Masses or the Enthuiasts, which will produce the best profit.
I presonally like the new shape and suits both my adrienaline rush and Family requirements were the Classic fell well short My T20 goes better than my Type R, brakes better and far more comfortable. Try a new Spec C if you want a simular experience to Classic
Do you have a favourite shirt? do you always buy the same colour and style!! Get real the Classic is gone, time to move on or should we all be driving Model T Fords in Black !!!!! ( Ok black was a myth)
Theres lots of thing you shouldn't knock untill you've tried it except **** things.
IMHO IIRC

Glad you cleared that one up Tony.......
Lot of sense there though.
Must say having had a classic, 2 x bugeyes (WRX 5 door and STI+PPP), an FQ340 EVO 8 MR and an M3 the latest MY06 convinced me enough to buy one. I even think it looks ok much better than my old bugeyes

"looks like a mondeo" which sililarities are you thinking of? Looks like in the sense of: "they both have doors & 4 wheels" and a "blue-ish oval badge?"
Confused?
