They haven’t even found a fuel partner yet.

Default WTF is this guy on!? Just had an email

On a more positive note, a couple of weeks ago, we mentioned that we had what looked like a really good offer on one of the latest SatNav units and we were evaluating it. As you know, we get loads of offers and most of them are not relevant to motorists or just not terribly exciting. This one looked different so, for the first time ever, we are going to stick our neck out and say "We think this one is worth looking at, folks."

The discount is for PipelineCard members only so we can't put it on the website - we have to pass on the information directly to you in this way.

The offer is:

20% off the very latest Navman 530 - just launched last month. Instead of £299, you can get one for £239 - a saving of £60.00. Our members also get free delivery and free European maps on CD. Check it out (we already have) you won't get that price anywhere else. We felt we had to tell you about it. Orders should be placed directly with Navman at http://www.navmanstores.com/pipeline

I will admit, I have used Navman's kit before - and I think this is their best unit yet. A couple of weeks ago some thieving oik broke my car window and stole my Navman 550 (which uses the same mapping) and I have been trying out the 530. I don't think I will go back to the 550 as this unit is faster, brighter, easier to use and - even without the discount - quite a bit cheaper.

I mostly turn the voice instructions off so I want a bright clear display with lots of road information. This display is very nice indeed. The new GPS engine is also powerful enough to get a fix indoors (in most buildings). Very few car units can do that. For a second opinion, there is an independent review of the Navman 530 at http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/review.php?reviewId=1526

To find out more or place an order, go directly to this page on the Navman site http://www.navmanstores.com/pipeline. Please note: the offer only applies during the month of June.

As we have said before, Pipeline is first and foremost about cheaper fuel. We don't go out looking for special offers on other products but when something exceptional like this comes our way, it is hard to resist. Even if you don't want or need a SatNav unit, we hope you will understand our reasons for wanting to give you the opportunity.

Don't worry, we are not going to pass on your personal details to anyone else, and you are not going to get a flood of offers from us either. Remember, this has been the first such offer in six months.

That's all for now; as always your feedback is welcome

Default Another Option

There is anothe option to the pipeline card.

http://www.marmaladecarclub.co.uk/

This allows you to buy fuel at a weekly set rate which is set on a Sunday. If you see fuel locally which is cheaper then dont use the card, but if the pump price is deare then use your card and you will be billed at the fixed price.

Have to agree - it looks increasingly like a (fairly cunning) scam. Consider me unsubscribed!

Hmmm depends on your definition of a scam. Have you lost money on this? I know it hasn't cost me anything.

It is starting to get a bit boring now.
It'll probably not be of any use in the end anyway, I can't see it reducing the price of Optimax, only the 95 ron supermarket fuels

LOL unless they do a deal with Shell, of course it's not going to affect Optimax...
Like I said before, does it really matter what happens, as its costing you nothing and potentially COULD work.

Bit of optimism never hurt anyone

Just let them know that you are considering legal action if the spam continues as this is not what you signed up for. If enough of us do it they should get the message.

its hardly spam is it !!!
an email once a month or so....
yeah the content of the update is fairly pointless, as its got nothing to do with cheaper fuel...yet.However as someone pointed out, its not costing you anything, so it didnt work out what, what have we all lost?

Scammel drives an EVO himself so he may push for optiomax ? Thats if he is actually trying to do anything or is just creating a huge database for other reasons ?

Whats the likelihood you get another email saying 'we're going to stick our necks out on this one' Go and buy it.

When you signed up originally it stated there would be no spam and they are only interested in fuel savings. Since then I have received Sat Nav, Gas etc etc etc so have unsubscribed. Think it is now a big con to get a database of addresses to sell to third parties although emails will still come from Ben Scammail to avoid the privacy issue.

Wink

It might pay off in the end, but it's a very slick way of putting together a specialised demographic for sales purposes, give Ben that at least.

Its market based!

In 6 months they have near 420,000 members....in another 6 months they will double..

In the end they have contacts for lots of people, for which they can sell the Databse created over time at then for lots of cash! Cleaver way of making money...

I have to also unsubscribed....(think we should start another unsubscribe thread. see how many members he will loose...
