Climate Control

I have had cars with aircon before but never climate.
Got a MY55 Wagon WRX. After reading the manual, I have tried to use the aircon in climate mode.
When switching the fan to auto it just blows on full speed. I have left it for about half an hour thinking it would eventually slow down but it just keeps on belting it out and eventually I give up and turn it off and use the aircon in manual mode.
Anybody tell me if this is normal, or is it not working as it should?

it will carry on blowing out on full if it cant get the temp down to what its set at, think thats how it works anyway. i never use the air con on mine.. does to much petrol as it is!! but yea thats the only reason it should blow out full all the time i guess

I have the MY06 STI - 3 weeks old ... have used the climate control/air con before but since I had the 1000 mile thingy done it is now only blowing out warm air ... most miffed ... will be contacting dealer tomorrow to sort it out!
Now I have a rattling passenger window, which they have tried to fix as previously only happened when doing over 100 (not that I ever do, ahem), but now does it at lower speeds ....
I love my scooby, not a single complaint about the driving bit, but these little niggles are annoying!
Has anyone else had these problems???
Nickie
P.S. I recently got the gold wheels done black ... am loving them!!!!!!!

For Climate to work properly Left and Middle should be set to auto.
Then press and hold recirc button for 1 sec until light flashes. Then press and hold aircon button for 1 sec until light flashes. Sorted.
In hot weather in this fully automatic mode system will turn on recirc function so that cabin air will cool more quickly. Fan will reduce after about 5- 10 mins unless temp is set to minimum when it will remain on max.

Praise be to Dave who just prevented me from looking like a prize tw*t ... Here was I ready to give the dealers grief, but thought I would just check out Dave's instructions before making that call ... I am sooooooo glad I did! ... The lack of air con/climate control was purely down to my numptiness! ... Thanks again Dave!
P.S. I'm really not helping prove that not all blondes are dumb ...
P.P.S. I still have a rattling passenger window (and no it isn't something in the door pocket)

On the rattling window front.......
a mates scooby had the same. He adjusted the door latch (the 'D' shaped bar on the frame that the door holds onto) inwards, therefore pulling the door tighter and sealing the window aginst the rubbers more firmly.
Sorry about the over technical explanation!!!! At least I didn't use 'thingy and whatsit' hehehe

Cheers ... they had a look at the window last week and said they knew exactly what was causing it and had fixed it ... I have to take it back on Monday now for them to "re-examine" it ... perhaps I will ask them if they have already checked the door thingy whatsit (hehe) ...
