Cold idle staling

Cold idle staling
Anyone help me?
I have a std 1999 2.0 impreza sport, which has started to stall if I have to stop within about the first 4 mins of my journy in the morning, I pull up sharp to the roundabout and the revs dissapear? It only does it on cold and and only after a few mins as it starts to warm up. Warm its fine, hot its fine. I have been to two garages who can find nothing wrong, but I'm not sure how much attention they paid to me, telling them it only does it when it is on the cold start first thing. Any ideas very welcome!

clean out the idle control valve mate 5 min job if its still happening check the vaccuum pipe going from the brake servo for fit and condition failing that maf sensor maybe ??
