Default Question re IPOD & standard stereo

Hi

I know this should really be posted in the ICE section, but I could do with a quick response. I have bought a Belkin casette adaptor for my mini IPOD but the crappy stereo keeps ejecting it

It's annoying because it works perfectly on my Wifes stereo

I'm off on a 3000 mile tour of Europe next week & need some decent tunes..... anyone know of a Subaru friendly adaptor kit that works??

Cheers

Jonesy

You need the sony cassette adaptor - it works fine in mine.

The cheap one I bought did exactly as you say.

Get an iTrip, its radio transmitter for your iPod, you put it on and then tune the radio into the iPod.

The Belkin did not work in my standard stereo?????????? but worked fine in the wifes Nissan???????

Griffin Smartdeck(bought from Apple store) worked fine. It does loose quality and occasionally did not work if the ipod (mines a nano) was low on battery.

My Griffin Smartdeck is for sale as I have bought the itrip now. Pm me if interested.

I've got one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3IN1-HOLDER-FM...QQcmdZViewItem
from ebay, if you find one UK based and buy it now you should get it in a few days . It plays your ipod through the radio and charges it at the same time .Plenty on ebay to choose from .

Looks like a decent bit of kit. The itrip does not charge so limits the use time. The advert states:

Select from four FM frequencies

Is that enough? The itrip has hundreds? Whats the quality/reception like?

I tried the cassette adapter ..... then I tried the one you tune into FM ...... and then gave up and replaced the standard stereo with a nice Kenwood DPX 501U unit + Ipod adapter.

The improvement in sound even with standard speakers is amazing - and the Ipod works no problem!

what stereo do you have? if it has auxiliary input connections then its pretty likely you can get a lead that will connect to a 3.5mm jack and then to the 'pod. i did this for £20 and got none of the sound quality loss that fm transmitters invariably give.

the problem with the itrip is that it reduces battery time by loads.
