I went to look at an Type UK bugeye last night on behalf of a friend. Just trying to clarrify if its definately an STI...
Why i think it might not be:
- no STI lettering on the intercooler
- no red paint int he engine bay anywhere.
- Log book lists it as a WRX
- Rear spoiler is not an STI one. Appearently the old one was replaced, although i'm not sure if it was the msall WRX one previously or an STI one.
Why I think it is:
- STI rear badge
- STI side decals
- STI interior
- STI gauges
- Prodrive kit with 18" wheels, black lights.
Any ideas on how i can definatively saw for certain what she is? does anyones else UK STI say WRX in the tax book?

UK bugeye STI's came in two flavours. The base model STI (low rear spoiler)and one known as "Prodrive Style". The Prodrive jobbie had some external differences but both had red painted manifolds....
I've got quite a few STI bits on my bugeye and they are easy to come by.
My guess would be it's a modded WRX in view of the lack of red manifolds
Midlife.....

Nothing wrong with modding a car to look like the top of the line model, totally different if you are trying to pass it off as authentic though.
Sounds like you are definitely looking at a WRX.
