Default 2006 STi - Dealer Deals

What kind of deals are being offered at the moment by UK dealer on the latest STis (ie, new car purchase). I've heard a mixture of things but want to to know what I should be aiming before. Has anyone bought an STi recently?

Max discount is 9% on RRP
I traded in my 7 year old RB5 and will pay 17200 to change on WRX STi Type UK March 06 with 1500 miles. Was also offered Jan 06 with 3000 miles - price to change 16425.
If you are buying cash with no trade in you could get Euro Import from Litchfield for 23000 with tracker and alarm etc or from motorpoint without extra UK stuff for 21000.

Is a 2006 sti better than an RB5?

For £17,200 I think I'd have kept the RB5 myself.

Cars get old, you have to move on. They only start to be a hassle as they get older and i was very happy with the way the 2006 Sti drove. Also new warranty and peace of mind.

Are they doing 5 years free servicing on the STi's or am I making that up?

Subaru main dealers nationwide were offering the WRX "TYPE UK" with this deal. Some dealers have sole dealer offers that may include servicing but this is only of interest if you are fairly near that dealer....do a search on google for cheap subarus...

http://www.hylton.co.uk/

Look under latest deals.....A very good deal on an STI was offered to me by hylton

- no connection to these people- !

I can see where your coming from but £17200 will fix more than a few RB5 problems
Enjoy the new one though

Drive a newage STI for a few weeks and you'll not want to go back to a classic

www.drivethedeal.co.uk quote £24669 for an STi including pearlescent paint, that's £2700 off list, and is a UK car, UK dealer supplied. I've used them before and can't fault their service

I got my 06 STI about 4 weeks ago. Spoke to Motorpoint and got their best deal and then went to the dealer and presented them with that at the crucial moment ... They are never keen to drop the new car price but I managed to get and extra £2k more than Motorpoint on the px value which pretty much equates to the same thing. I knew they would not be able to beat the Motorpoint price but I figured if they could come somewhere near I would be happy as I would be getting the Type UK and not have to mess about getting the tracker, alarm and underseal done ... You will also find that if you need finance you can beat them down on the rate if you try hard enough ... The sales guy told me business had been slow of late, so they are much more inclined to give you discount via some method ... I also got them to throw in a paint job on the gold wheels and a free tank of petrol etc. ... Best advice I can offer is to do your homework, go in prepared and let them think you are prepared to walk away unless you get the deal you are looking for.

Hope this helps ...

Nickie

P.S. I'm lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it .... just as everyone predicted!
