Default Andy F blew the bottom of his inlet manifold today

I think he needs a stronger inlet manifold to cope with the nitrous as he blew it apart. The welding along the bottom of it failed and it just peeled open

He did indeed, we then brought it to my house and I welded it up and we later reffited it.

And very appreciative I am too David sacrificed half his day of racing to get my manifold welded back up so I could run again
Unfortunately, when it popped the manifold it appears to have ingested some debris and I now have one very badly scored bore and a damaged piston

So if I get it rebored/rebuilt in time it may still be running-in at the pod

Sorry about that steven, I really wanted to see Andy run, and I know how it feels not not run, so I wasnt bothered by parking my car up.

David, are you running your wagon at the pod this weekend???

I'm totally gutted for Andy, especially with his car running such good times already this year.

Rob,

No Im not, I may run at elvington on the 2nd of July, but this a big MAY.

I need to have a good look over the car, boost control isnt right since new box was fitted, throttle positon / idle needs altering as its creeping to 1500 - 2000 when warm..

Other than that I think its time for an precautionary engine rebuild.

sorry to hear that Andy. its quite a scary co-incidence as Andy Nicholls did the same to his inlet manifold on friday, blew it wide apart down the weld under 2.3 bar boost!
