Funny Scooby and TVR story
#1
Saturday driving through T.Wells my wife spots an old friend of ours driving a TVR, he pulls out behind us.
We pull into the petrol station I get out and he followed us in. Before he turned off the engine I ran upto him calling "don't turn it off it'll never start again"
He smiled and explained in a year of motoring no problems, turned it off and back on again just to prove the point....
Anyway he fills up before me and pays then I go and pay. Looking from the window I see him start kangeroo forward three times and stop.
By the time I'd paid he was out there bonnet up cursing.
I said slightly embarressed, "you should by Japanese, far more reliable" and left him to it.
For various reasons over the next 40 minutes I had to drive past said petrol station twice more and it was still there with the bonnet up.... poor guy.

Sounds like he may have flooded the engine (starting enrichment?) when he restarted it to show you it would start again, this is more likely if the engine was still under the cold start threshold temp... nevertheless you can't fault his timing...
