Insuring an STI
Just received my renewal today, shock horror!
MY 03 STI - no mods
Age 36, male, married with two kids, 11y ncb.
Car garaged.
£720 with Admiral
All other big companies quoting around £500.
I have been with Admiral for seven years or so and am a little pi**ed of with them
Interesting to know what others with similar details are paying for their cars.

Evo VIII jdm. 48 y/o, (wife on policy 1 claim) but protected! £800......Things are getting a bit daft eh? Thing is I was paying £500 for a 330i bmw so £300 more isn't to bad I suppose. At the end of the day if you enjoy the car pay the money, there aint no pockets in shrouds, and I certainly aint leaving it for my kids

If you tell them you are gay and aspired to the car because of its gold wheels and pink badging they give you a discount. Worked for me

Just got my renewal letter today and I`m paying a lot less than you, but all depends on what area you are in. I for one will be chasing quotes tomorrow, because as people have said, its getting ridiculous now. We are paying for chavs to smash their cars up, probably racing to see who can get to the quickest Maccy D`s first.

Yup I`ll be on the case first thing in the morning. May try the insurers that are recommended on here. If I`m not sick of trying to identify my car. "Its got what Sir?" " Makes me mad

Then went with A-Plan. You've got a few years on me, but it was £676. Keith Michaels are apparently good and mod-friendly.

Should have added that if I were to insure a 94 UK spec impreza, it would cost £300 less for the same deal with the same insurer. That's the sort of difference insuring an import makes!

Male, 32 y/o, 0 points, 1 years ncd, MY01 WRX.
I paid £1500 last year with elephant.co.uk (by far the cheapest I could find) and their renewal this year was £1020 due to now having 1 years ncd.
Phoned A-Plan and got a quote for £820 so went with them instead.
A good tip for those who don't already know, get your missus put on the insurance as a named driver, it saved me £170 last year because the premium is less with her on it than if I'm the only driver.

27, 3 years no-claims, garaged 04 WRX no mods, £820 with the 26 year old Mrs on too. A-plan. They were £200 cheaper than anyone else and are always good to speak to regardless of how important your question is. Seem to know their stuff
