Hi
As some people are aware being the lazy sod i am i have remote engine start, saves me being in the car to warm it up .
Anyway Bin men always come on a wednesday so i park my car in main car park rather than outside kitchen window, just leaving work tonight look through window saw a car parked next to mine and press button to start car. Leave work saying by to everyone and walk up step to car thinking strange could have sworn there was a car next to mine, as i get closer there's a woman stood on the pavement turn round and says to me "erm excuse me i just parked next to that car there and it started itself, so i moved just incaes it drove off".
I think i almost died laughing

That's nothing! Did you see Knightrider? Has a Kit-car that does the same thing, AND talks to the lady you mentioned!
My last boss was a short guy. Fat but short, like a blown-up midget. Drove a big Merc. From behind it was impossible to see him behind the headrests, and these were on the lowest position. We placed a 'sticker' on his bumper 'hunk ya horn if no driver behind the wheel' In Dutch. He drove a week with it before he got to load groceries or something.

Going off on a slight tangent here (well it is 5.40am!), my brother drove for several days with a number plate his works mates had made up, over the top of his real number, which read "W**KER". Virtually died when I saw it...

I don't have remote start. I like to leave my car in gear, for three reasons:
1) Stops people cutting handbrake cable and rolling it away
2) Experience of Citroen's efforts at locking rear discs involved car rolling down street after brakes had cooled
3) Used to own a Saab which you have to leave in reverse to get the keys out
Whilst I'd quite like remote starting, I can see it being a bit embarrasing when my car knocks the neighbours fence over on a cold winter's morning.

Clifford had a faultly batch on their older Clifford Concept 50x
I had one fitted - parked up - came back and there was a bunch of people standing round it - transpires that it had started itself - thos presented a problem and it kept doing it - had to disconnnet battery to stop it
Got it fixed - but no explanation other than faultly unit
Cliffords also have a tendency not to work in my neck of the woods - in Brisol North they get interference from the RAC mast - crap system I guess
I have no such worries with Sigma - cheaper and better IMHO

You should have told her it's OK, it's your invisible mate, and he wouldn't have left without you.
