Default Advice needed tyre fitting

My brother recently took his mini cooper for two new tyres,

1 hour later got a call from the guy doing the work to say that they have replaced the tyres but one tyre will not inflate due to it being seriously cracked and sent him on his way with one new tyre and one old tyre completely flat

He took the car straight to BMW where they removed the tyre to reveal a 6 inch crack in the wheel which matched up perfectly to 2 big grooves, The BMW garage blamed shear incompetence of the fitter, showing how the grooves have been created by not replaving the tyre correctly causing the crack

On returning to the tyre garage he was confronted buy 3 of the fitters and the manager, who then had a heated argument in the shop floor, as he left to be called a “*****”

Now whats the best way to go about this is in a legal manor. £200 for a new wheel is not the problem here, the attitude stinks and he wants to take this further

Cheers

Rich
